Magnetic sump plug for Renault engine and gearbox
Acts as a filter, trapping the engine's metal particles (swarf) to minimise wear, delivering greater reliability and keeping the oil in good condition for longer.
Inside the engine, every cold start and every mile produce microscopic metal wear particles. The oil filter traps the larger ones, but the finest pass straight through and keep circulating with the oil, acting as an abrasive exactly where it hurts most: the big-end and main bearings, the camshaft and, on turbocharged engines, the turbo shaft. This magnetic plug works continuously: its N52 neodymium magnet captures and holds ferrous particles in the sump, out of circulation. The oil stays cleaner for longer, wear is reduced and reliability improves.

Purpose-made to fit the standard Renault drain plug.
Fits, among others, the R5 GT Turbo, R11 Turbo, Clio Williams / 16V, Clio 2 Sport 2.0, 19 16V, Mégane and Express, in both the engine sump and all JB/JC gearboxes. Compatible with our sump baffle plates: stainless version and WRC version with one-way valves.
Ideal for use in both the engine and the gearbox, as it fits perfectly in the GT Turbo's original gearbox and in all JB and JC gearboxes (JB3, JC5, JB1, JB5, etc.).
Used in the gearbox, it lets you remove a large part of the swarf every time it is unscrewed, extending the gearbox's service life.

Installation
Nominal tightening torque: 25 Nm. Maximum torque: 55 Nm. Sealing is provided by the copper washer; exceeding the nominal torque is not recommended.
Diagnostic function
At every engine oil or gear oil change, the swarf held on the magnet is a direct reading of internal condition: a fine, even film corresponds to normal wear, while excessive swarf or large particles warn of a developing problem before it becomes a failure. Wipe clean and refit, ready for the next interval.
